Endocrinology

Endocrinology is the consultation, assessment and management of endocrine problems in ambulatory patients. Patients are seen and assessed by endocrinologists for a variety of problems including thyroid disease, pituitary disease, adrenal disease, hypogonadism, calcium disorders, and other diseases of the endocrine system. Patients who are assessed may need to have blood testing or specialized hormonal testing as part of the diagnostic process. They also may need to have x-rays, MRI scans, CT scans or other diagnostic tests done. The tests done will be determined by the endocrinologist.

To ensure continuity of care, all consultation services are provided in response to a referral by either a primary care physician or another specialist.

Anyone referred for assessment of endocrine or metabolic problem is eligible.
